What is Accushield Mobile?

Accushield Mobile is a smartphone app that works in conjunction with your existing Accushield kiosk to provide a touchless sign-in experience for everyone entering (and exiting) your community/facility. With health safety in mind, the Accushield Mobile app offers a touchless sign-in and health-screening solution designed to capture temperature, ask COVID-19 questions, and even validate a negative COVID-19 test result for everyone who enters senior living communities and nursing homes.

Who can use Accushield Mobile?

Accushield Mobile is designed to support all Accushield kiosk user profiles, enabling touchless sign in and sign out for staff members, visitors, volunteers, residents, third-party healthcare providers, and vendors.

When will the App be available?

The Accushield Mobile App is scheduled for release in February 2021.

How can my staff members, visitors, volunteers, residents, third-party healthcare providers, and vendors download the Accushield Mobile App?

The Accushield Mobile App can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. In addition, community/facility can display a QR code at building entrances that will direct individuals to the App download page.

Will Accushield Mobile work with both Android and Apple phones?

Yes, Accushield Mobile will work with both Android and Apple phone.

What is the cost of using Accushield Mobile?

Scanner hardware cost: The scanner hardware is a one-time cost of $450.00 per device. The scanner comes with a 2-year warranty and connects directly to the back of the kiosk using a USB connection. 

App download cost: There is no extra cost for an individual to download and use Accushield Mobile for a touchless sign-in experience at an Accushield kiosk. If a community/facility decides to use the optional feature of verifying COVID-19 tests through the app and there will be an additional cost.  The cost is TBD.  If the community does not use the Accushield system to verify COVID-19 testing, there is no additional cost for the community apart from the purchase of the scanner. Can I validate that my staff members have a clear COVID-19 test using the Accushield Mobile App?

As an additional safety measure, community/facility management can choose whether or not a negative COVID-19 test is required by individuals at sign in. Should facility management require proof of a negative COVID-19 test, the individual will be given detailed instructions on COVID-19 testing requirements upon opening the App. After the individual completes the testing requirements and receives their negative COVID-19 test results, they will be instructed to use the in-app camera to upload them directly to the web-based Accushield Dashboard, giving management the ability to approve or deny the COVID-19 test. Following management approval, the individual will receive a text message validating the negative COVID-19 test document and permitting them to sign in with the App at the facility. There is an additional charge of 25% added to the monthly cost for to enable the COVID-19 test validation feature.

How do we start using Accushield Mobile?

To enable Accushield Mobile for a touchless user experience, Accushield customers should follow these steps:

  1. Order a scanner for each kiosk that will be utilized for touchless sign in and sign out. Scanners can be pre-ordered by filling out an order form here: QR Code Hardware Pre-order Form. Prior to the app release, scanners will be shipped on a first-ordered, first-shipped basis.
  1. Upon receiving your scanner, Accushield will enable Accushield Mobile and touchless sign in for your community or facility.
  1. Once enabled for Accushield Mobile, administrators will find a unique QR code in the Accushield Dashboard that can be distributed to those interested in using Accushield Mobile (Settings > Sign In Features > Mobile App Download Settings). Scanning this QR code will take individuals directly to the Accushield Mobile App in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Individuals may also directly search for “Accushield Mobile” in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store to download the App.
  1. Upon opening the App, individuals will be prompted to create a profile and validate this information using a mobile phone verification code.

How can I use the Accushield Mobile in-app calendar to schedule visits? (families and friends of residents only)

The in-app calendar allows visitors (ex: families and friends) to schedule a visit with a resident. Facility management will set visitation and capacity parameters via the web-based Accushield Dashboard.

Can I use Accushield Mobile without an Accushield Kiosk?

Unfortunately, No. Every community and facility should have a manual sign-in protocol because not all individuals will be able to sign-in with an App. In addition, the Accushield kiosk is integrated with a touchless thermometer, name badge printer, and QR code scanner.

Are visitors required to download Accushield Mobile to sign in?

While this is recommended from an infection control perspective, we do realize that not everyone owns a smartphone. In the event the App can’t be downloaded, an individual can still use the kiosk manually to sign-in.

Where is this data stored?

All data is securely stored and encrypted in AWS (Amazon Web Services) in the United States of America.

Can you require an individual using Accushield Mobile to accept a Consent Form or other document before the QR code is displayed?

Yes, community/facility management can add a customizable document to the App sign-in process requiring an individual to accept a Consent Form and/or other documents before signing in.

Will the App be released in phases?

Yes, we will initially release the sign-in App for Staff only.  Shortly thereafter we will release the Accushield Mobile App to families, friends, third-party caregivers, residents, volunteers, and vendors.
